A Fine Example of a Service Dog

Service Dog in Action

Trixie The Service Dog In Action

Editor’s Note:  As some of you may have noticed from yesterday, I published a post with a video that was broken….. now I’m gonna try again and this time it should work…

What, you may ask, is a service dog?  A service dog is a type of assistance dog, specifically trained to help people who have disabilities, many types of disabilities can be helped by these special dogs.  Service dogs are sometimes trained and bred by service dog organizations, some are donated by private breeders, and others are selected from shelters.

Take Jesse for example…  in this funny pet video:

it can give you insight on what a service dog can be trained to do.  We all wish we had a Jesse… you know the cute little Jack Russell Terrier who is so full of energy he can conquor the world.  Well think about all the tasks he could help you with just around the house even if you aren’t physically challenged in any way.

Enjoy and remember…

That was one awesome video! I have a friend with a disability who has a service dog, and I know she would be lost without him. They become more like family than a pet. Thanks for sharing this. It will surely help people to understand the value of these meticulously trained animals and encourage them to offer financial support to the many non profit organizations that train these dogs and match them with the people who need them.

    • KarenConley says:

Glad you liked the video Lynn, so many people don’t understand the depth of what a service animal can be trained to help do. God makes amazing creatures doesn’t He?

Would love to get connected with your friend with a service dog, maybe we can network together and compare issues and share stories – could you please pass on my website or facebook ID?

  11. Sandi says:

It is sure great how the service dogs become an extension of the person they are in charge of and become a true friend/pet.
